ABOUT

Our History

Welcome to Karen’s Dance Studio (KDS) we’re glad you found us! KDS has been providing Joplin area students with a quality dance education since 1971. Our goal is to instill in our students with a love and appreciation for the art of dance in a positive and inspiring environment. Our curriculum inspires creativity, strength, and self confidence in our students through qualified, trained, and engaging instructors. Our dance instruction encourages healthy minds and bodies through dance, while teaching lifelong lessons.

All instructors teach from our uniquely designed curriculum, created to cultivate a joy and love for music and dance. We are active members of Dance Masters of America and teach the Cecchetti method of ballet. KDS teachers attend workshops and conventions each year to continue their dance education and keep classes fresh and exciting.

When considering a dance school, we encourage you to come by, watch a class, and experience the Karen’s Dance Studio family, to see if it is a fit for your family. We also upload videos of our performances on Youtube—watch them here.
