Kennedy

Kennedy started dancing at the age of three, refusing to do any other style of dance but ballet for 7 years. From there, she competed both regionally and nationally for 8 years in styles such as jazz, contemporary, ballet, and hip hop, winning numerous awards and honors. She also auditioned for the television show “So You Think You Can Dance” at the age of 18 as a jazz dancer.

Kennedy graduated in 2017 with a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from Ohio State University, but never lost her love of dance. She choreographed and performed with a completely student run group on campus, putting on 2 shows a year. She was also a member of New Vision Dance Company, performing in two company shows and teaching master classes for the community. Additionally, she was the head summer ballet teacher for her dance studio Alma mater, The Movement Center School of Dance.

Now moving to Joplin from Ohio for a job at General Mills, dance was something she knew was missing from her new life! Kennedy is so excited to get to know all the wonderful students and families at Karen’s and continue to foster her love of dance by teaching the next generation!
